behind the scenes

Hello there! I see you have found my blog.πŸ˜‰ The Purpose of This Blog has been described in my first post, so if you are wondering about why I started it or named it Sticky Notes and Ice Cream, please check it out! If you didn’t already know, I am Maddison Merriman, a young lady who loves both the Lord and life in general. I am quirky, and I whole-heartedly embrace it. I have a weird case of OCD, an in-depth way of thinking, a love of people and the way humans work, an odd obsession with personalities, and am undeniably a perfectionist. I love all things “different,” or outside the norm- unique things or people have always intrigued me!

I find an art in words, which is probably the main reason I began this blog. I love everything about words, from sentence structure and grammar to the poetic rhythm of certain writings. English has always been my favorite subject in school, as I have always done best in that area. Along with a love of words comes a love of books. I haven’t been able to read as much as I used to when I was younger, but I still love relaxing with a good book!

Being an INFJ and Type One, I am laid-back and love to laugh. I am an introvert, but get along with 99% of the people I come across. I truly love meeting new people, and I love being around the people I am close to even more. I strive to be genuine in all aspects of my lifeβ€”I can’t stand fake! Although upon first meeting me, you might either judge me to be serious and quiet or outgoing and personable. (My personality contradicts itself in almost every area! Haha) I have a heart for traveling and I dream of places I have yet to go. I am also a coffee lover!

I am one of five children, so I am definitely a supporter of large families. Everything is way more fun and interesting with seven people anyway! I can’t imagine there only being four of usβ€”how boring!πŸ˜† I am also a PK (preacher’s kid). My dad pastored for over five years, we went evangelizing (traveling the country and preaching at different churches) for a bit, helped out at a local home missions church for a few months, and are now in the process of moving to Southern Mississippi. We are Apostolic and absolutely love it! Following the Apostle’s doctrine (which Jesus gave them) is a lifestyle beyond rewarding!

Thank you for stopping by! I would love if you made your visit an extended stay by giving me a follow. And please comment suggesting post topics or even just to say “hi!” I look forward to hearing from you.🌡✨

Also I went and looked at your church website, your mom is sooooo pretty!!! She looks really young, like you guys could be sister…not to say that you look old! LOL We seem like we have a lot of the same interests but I’m soooooo not a perfectionist or super organized…and I like sticky notes but never remember what to write on them or if I did TOO LOOK AT THEM!!! 2. Awe thanks, Mary! Your comment made me smile.πŸ˜‰ I am so glad you enjoyed my blog! I enjoy yours, as well!😁 Haha I don’t mind if you stalk me!πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ And, yes, my mom is really pretty and young looking! We get mistaken for sisters all the time!πŸ˜‚ Non-perfectionists and unorganized people are the ones that add color to our world, so that’s completely OK!πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜‚
Haha Isn’t is wonderful how God made such diverse personalities?

  3. Hey Maddison!! I’m so glad I found your blog; its name has a nice ring to it- unique and cute as well πŸ™‚ I found your blog through Aria’s @ and decided I liked what I saw here so I followed! Looking forward to more posts and little chats with you. I feel like I have so much in common with you- I can be either introvert or extrovert, depending on my mood. English has been my strongest subject as well! And yes, fakeness is a big no-no for me as well. Tee hee, hope this comment has not been too long for you! See ya around!

  4. Ooh, it looks like we have a lot in common! I like books, travel, I can be outgoing or serious and observant, and it looks like we have some important things in common doctrinally πŸ™‚ Hope to see you around!

  5. Well, we don’t really associate with a particular denomination, and we aren’t sponsored in our mission work by a particular church, but our beliefs in general (from your church website) look similar πŸ™‚

  6. Absolutely! And we’re only two states away at the moment, so if y’all ever come up this way (or if we head down your way), I’d love to meet sometime!

  7. Hello, Madison! *waves*

I just discovered your blog and it’s so adorable! The name is so cute, too. πŸ˜€ We actually have a lot of things in common! I’m a daughter of the King, an introvert (I’m more of an extrovert when I’m around people I know. But when it comes to meeting people, I get super shy), blogger, total perfectionist, book worm and a PK (it’s always fun finding people who are kids of preachers!).

  8. Hi! *waves back*

Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it!☺️ We do have quite a bit in common! And yes, finding other PKs is always a treat! Thanks for reading, and welcome to my blog!✨
