I feel a tad cliche posting about the coronavirus, but I feel that it’s the most relevant topic right now. So here we are. haha
The word fear and all those similar are being used far more frequently than any positive terms right now. Even Apostolics have been allowing themselves to be crippled by its grasp. It’s saddening to see it take over so many people’s lives. Especially saddening for those that have forgotten the bigger picture of God’s Kingdom, even for a little bit.
It’s interesting though. During the most challenging and confusing times are when certain things become all-the-more clear to us. It’s like God is forcing us all to step back and actually see things for what they are. How precious life is. How much we take for granted the little things. How amazingly incredible it is to have freedom of religion and a church to physically attend every Sunday. How many times we let life slip by, just staring at our phones or doing mindless activities. How delicious Zaxby’s and Joe’s KC BBQ is. (Ha!)
One of the things that have become clearest to me in all this murkiness, is that we are not defined by any thing of this world. No sickness or economic failures could ever effect God or His Kingdom. It can’t even put a dent in His plan or His church. This virus could never hurt His Kingdom, because His plan includes COVID-19 anyway. He’s already written it into the blueprint of eternity and in the plot line of our individual lives. Our job is to just understand the truth of this, and be still.
Once we stop and realize that our worries are doing absolutely nothing for us, we can start to breathe again. Life will play out the same way, whether we spend 90% of it worrying or not.
“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”
Luke 12:25 ESV
But you know what we can do? We can pray, and we can hope, and we can know that God is and always will be in control. Fear is not our definition, and this is not our definition! This world does not define the Church, in any way. The fear and craziness swirling around won’t lay a finger on us, if we don’t let them. We have something so much greater than the coronavirus, within us.
“Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord:”
Psalm 102:18 ESV
I was reading my Bible recently, and the verse above popped out at me. This time has been created in such a way, that God still gets all the glory! He’s taught us all how beautiful it is to worship Him in His sanctuary and how amazing He is and how He’s the best friend we’ll all ever have. He’s taught us that we need church and we need each other. God forbid we forget or ignore the lessons that we should be burying deep in our hearts right now! These lessons not only need to be remembered, they need to be recorded so that the next generations can be told how incredible our God is!
God, help us to never forget these lessons. Help us to always, always remember that you are in control and that Your plan is perfect. Thank You so very much for keeping us and strengthening us during this time. Help us to always let You alone be our definition!
Wow! As always, you seem to be able to put into words what we all need to hear. This is on point, my friend! This can be a time of growth instead a time of crippling as it has been for some. It really depends a lot on perspective and understanding that this day, time, situation, circumstances, restrictions DO NOT define us. We are created to be the light. “A city on a hill”, that’s what the Bible says…this is thought provoking, sis. It is in these times of desperation that people are more open to hearing about something that can give hope. God is doing great things through all of this, and it’s amazing to be serving God in a time like this. Thank you, my friend, I needed this! ❤️ Love you! 😍

This thought has been rolling around in my mind for quite some time—believe it or not, it took awhile to articulate! Haha It’s so refreshing to know that THIS doesn’t define us, but HE does! Thank you for the sweet words, hermana! Love you crazy much!♥️‼️

In these past few days I’ve thought many a time how blessed I am to have friends who have a talent for writing. Whether it be poems, songs, or just thoughts, I am blessed to have friends who can express themselves like that! Its going to be crazy when we all are able to get together! ❤️😂 Love you sis, and the rest of my adopted family! 😁
