I am writing this at 3:45 in the morning, because I happen to be wide awake. A very frustrating thing, but hey! Blog post inspiration, right? Haha
It’s storming outside. Not a horrible, tornado-weather type storm, but a soft, sleepy storm. It’s been nice. Just a few minutes ago, as I laid here, listening to the rhythmic rumbles, I mouthed, “God, thank you for the storms.”
And then thought about what I had just said. Wait, what? Thank You for the storms? Where did that come from? I don’t even like storms.
Which is true. I don’t really like storms.🤷🏼♀️ But, somehow, I chose to see the beauty in this one. This one was precious to me.
Sound like a double meaning to any of y’all? I definitely think so. I perceive that it’s not the storm that’s really “so bad”, but it’s how we are viewing it, what attitude and mindset we have that makes us have that perspective. That’s actually a pretty deep thought.
How we react to the storm in our life will be based off of how we choose to see it. It’s that simple.
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m going to choose to see mine as beautiful. Because when you finally begin seeing that once-horrible storm as beautiful, you fall in love with Him even more. You can see just a smidgen more of God’s love for you. It’s incredible.
He puts us through storms simply to grow us, test our strength a little bit–all for His glory. He’s doing it so that He can use us for His Kingdom. We can be better vessels if we just let Him mold us with the storms. Just forget the whys for a minute.
Also, once you see the storm as beautiful, you’re going to have a more joyful life. Because you’ll be praising Him for that storm every step of the way. Which is a very rewarding thing to do; you get so much joy out of praising Him! (As long as you’re praising Him from deep inside of you, with a attitude of humility. Pride can’t get in the way of this one!)
So why don’t we let that storm become beautiful?
