A Tulsa Weekend

Just a warning, but this will be a long post. There were too many things I just couldn’t leave out. haha

Have I ever told y’all how much I love my youth group? They are seriously the best.โค๏ธ Four months had gone by without seeing them, and that was just too long.๐Ÿ˜ So, this trip was very long-awaited! And, boy did I have a good time!

We went for the music workshop that their church was hosting. It was a Friday night and an entire Saturday, so it was an intense schedule. But it was so good! Anyone involved in Apostolic music needs to attend whenever they have it again.

I seriously had so much fun. Spending time with these people is very high on my list of favorite things to do. Lifetime memories are always being made, and new memorials are constantly being built. Even though there wasn’t even one church service, God was very present in those sessions! If you didn’t already know, praying with them is another one of my favorite things to do.๐Ÿ˜‰

The weekend started out by us driving down to Pawhuska for lunch at The Mercantile on Friday. Which is a heavenly place to eatโ€“everything is delicious!

Then, we headed on to Tulsa. After quickly changing, Kennzie and I went with Lauren on a couple errands (I lacked it!๐Ÿ˜†) before the first session. In the midst of our running around, these things happened: We saw a plane land. (Look! It’s landing!) We laughed. We waved hello to a man washing his beardโ€“over FaceTime. We laughed again. We saw a very fruity rug, then considered stealing some gas station food. (The cashier was going to let us and everything!๐Ÿ˜†) We laughed some more. And somewhere in the midst of it all, Lauren and I realized that we were matching. (After hilariously predicting it the night before #prophetesses) So, we laughed once again. (Are you noticing a theme here?๐Ÿคฃ)

Sounds like a pretty great start, right? haha

I was super hyped, due to the fact that I had three caffeinated drinks, plus adrenaline running through me. And apparently my crazy was “oozing” onto Lauren. Which, if you know her, that’s saying something! haha This is one out of the only two normal pictures we took. It was insane. But SO MUCH FUN. I wish I could upload the videos we took during it allโ€“y’all, we’ll never hold the title of “normal”.๐Ÿ˜† It’s a good thing I don’t really want to, anyway.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Despite a certain incident (in which I came very close to passing out), the sessions on Friday night were really good! Me and Lauren really felt the blogger coming out in us during the first one; we couldn’t write fast enough to keep up with the inspiration we were getting! I am sure y’all will read at least a couple posts inspired by Friday night in the future.๐Ÿ˜‰

I had so much fun on Friday that I was completely exhausted by the time I went to bed at the Stewart’s that night. But, as soon as my head it the pillow, my brain woke up. Eck. So, I was up at 3:30 after only a rough two hours of sleep. It was a glorious start to an already exhausting Saturday. haha

I thoroughly enjoyed lunch on Saturday! We (Me, Lauren, Jeremy, Bekah, Ashlynn, Kelsi, then later on, Jeriah, Garrett, and Kennzie. If I missed anyone, I’m going to blame the chaos of it all!๐Ÿ˜‚) had a very animated discussion about one of our favorite topics: Adventures in Odyssey! I was cracking up the entire time at the passion some of us had about the episodes. We were all asking each other if they remembered “that one episode where…”, and we had some pretty great laughs. Isn’t it great that Apostolics are so fluent in Odyssey-ese?

To explain the above picture: Yes, I am sitting on Bekah, who is sitting on Roli. haha We did a retake of the picture below from what feels like forever ago (originally from this post). I love both pictures so much!โค๏ธ

Then came the time to go eat after everything was finished. Lauren didn’t come, because it wasn’t in her priorities.๐Ÿ™„ I guess she thinks she’s just too good for us, huh?๐Ÿ˜† Anyway, we managed to have a blast without her! After bearing through a freezing cold and long wait, the 25ish of were seated. Finally. haha Our table was not boring, let me tell ya. hahaha How could it be with all 40 of Jeremy’s spectacular jokes?๐Ÿ˜† Ok, I’ll admit, that last cow one was pretty funny. And the rubber toe one.๐Ÿ˜‚ Drinks were spilled, ketchup was thrown, and lemons were eaten- definitely not boring.๐Ÿ˜† I had a lot of fun, even in the midst of the chaos.๐Ÿ˜‰ It was a wonderful grand finale to a wonderful weekend!

Oh, did I mention that I love these people like crazy?

  1. Oh my heavens. ๐Ÿ˜† So many funny moments! I had forgotten about the fruity rug and the gas station food in light of the guy washing his beard while FaceTiming (is this a thing?! ๐Ÿคจ).
I wouldโ€™ve liked to go eat with yโ€™all but…I like Mr. Cool a little too much to give him up for that. ๐Ÿ˜œ I was enjoying the updates that you sent throughout the evening though! Haha
Iโ€™m glad you were able to attend the seminar and be in town, even for just a few days. We should do it again sometime! (How does next week sound? ๐Ÿ˜‰) Big love to you, my frister. ๐Ÿ’—
